Marketing Manager
Build the operating system home service businesses use to grow.
Sales Engine helps HVAC, plumbing, roofing, landscaping, and other home service companies replace guesswork marketing with a revenue-goal-driven system: the Results First Method®. We don't run campaigns and hope. We build the math, set the targets, and operate the system that makes growth predictable for our clients.
We're hiring Marketing Engineers — the people who sit at the center of that work for each client we serve.
What is a Marketing Engineer?
A Marketing Engineer is the quarterback of a home service business's growth. Not a campaign manager. Not a project manager. Not a customer service rep. A growth operator who can read a client's numbers, diagnose what's actually limiting growth, and guide the owner through the decisions that move revenue forward.
In a typical month you'll:
- Lead the monthly strategy conversation with the business owner — walking them through what's working, what's not, and what to do next
- Record concise Loom updates that explain performance without drowning the client in dashboards
- Translate the Results First plan — revenue goal, lead goal, target Customer Acquisition Cost, monthly marketing budget — into clear recommendations
- Coordinate internal specialists running Google Ads, Meta Ads, SEO, and website work
- Diagnose where the real bottleneck lives when results lag: traffic, lead quality, the sales process, attribution, capacity, close rate, or owner expectations
- Hold the line on what matters and keep the client confident, calm, and aligned
You're not servicing a client. You're guiding one.
What predicts success in this role
The strongest Marketing Engineers share a specific profile:
- Organized and disciplined. You manage a portfolio of clients without dropping balls, and you decide what's important rather than reacting to whoever emails loudest.
- Emotionally intelligent. You can read when an owner needs reassurance, when they need a push, and when they need a difficult truth.
- Analytical and commercially minded. ACoS, cost per lead, cost per customer, close rate, won revenue, Customer Acquisition Cost vs. allowable Customer Acquisition Cost — you think in these terms naturally and translate them into plain language for a non-marketer.
- Marketing-fluent. You understand Google Ads, Meta Ads, local and organic SEO, websites, tracking, and attribution well enough to diagnose issues — even when you're not executing every channel yourself.
- Calm under owner pressure. Home service owners are sharp, direct, and busy. You can hold a strategy conversation with someone running a multi-million-dollar company and have them leave feeling guided.
What we look for on paper
- 5–10 years of digital marketing experience, ideally with multi-client or agency exposure
- Working knowledge of Google Ads and Meta Ads (you don't need to be a media buyer, but you need to be able to read a campaign)
- Familiarity with CRMs and sales pipelines (GoHighLevel experience is a strong plus)
- Comfort with spreadsheets and unit-economics thinking — revenue goals, close rates, Customer Acquisition Cost, cost per lead
- Experience speaking directly with business owners, not just marketing managers
- Sales experience is a plus, not a requirement
Why Sales Engine
- A proprietary methodology to stand behind. You'll operate the Results First Method® — a registered, unit-economics-anchored system that gives you something real to teach clients, not generic agency advice.
- An engaged founder and real coaching. Direct access, fast feedback, and the chance to build alongside someone who cares about your growth.
- Compensation. Starting salary $75K with swift growth tied to performance. Group health benefits with Sales Engine covering 80% of premiums and 100% of vision and dental.
- Time off. 3 weeks paid vacation plus paid sick leave.
- Remote, with structure. Work from home with a full Zoom-driven schedule, a professional setup, and the focus to operate at the pace home service clients expect.
- Career path. This role grows into senior client leadership, methodology development, and team-building responsibility as Sales Engine scales.
Is this you?
If you've sat in a marketing meeting thinking the numbers don't support what we're doing, if you've explained Customer Acquisition Cost to a business owner and watched them suddenly understand their own business, or if you've quietly resented running campaigns without a real plan behind them — this role is built for you.
